Charles Alexander joined Able Company from the 24th Replacement Draft on February 24, 1945. He had been trained as an anti-tank gunner, but the rifle companies had taken such massive casualties that he was pressed into service and sent to the front lines.
Alexander was wounded on March 6, 1945, during an attack on the Amphitheater / Turkey Knob complex. He was evacuated and did not see further combat. By the end of the war, he was rated as a Private First Class.
Charles Alexander died in 1978, and is buried in Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.
