Corporal Hugh Bosworth joined Able Company after the Tinian campaign. He was assigned to the mortar section as a squad leader.
Bosworth was wounded during the battle of Iwo Jima on February 20, 1945, and evacuated to a hospital on Saipan. He did not return to combat.
After the war, Bosworth returned to Tennessee, where he married Eleanor Hussey and raised a family. He died in Memphis in 1996.
