Peter Cabrelli joined Able Company in the fall of 1944. He served with the machine gun platoon, probably as an ammunition carrier.
PFC Cabrelli landed on Iwo Jima two years to the day after he enlisted. He was wounded in action in March, 1944. After recovering from his wounds, he was honorably discharged on December 13, 1945, from Quantico VA.
Cabrelli died in Pennsylvania in 1995. He is buried in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
