John Card was born in Esopus, New York, in 1924. He joined Able Company from the Headquarters and Service Company of the 24th Marines on September 1, 1943.
He was rated as a rifleman, and served in one of Able Company's rifle platoons. Card was badly wounded during the fighting for Namur, and was evacuated to the USS Solace. He never returned to the company.
John Card died in 1968.
