Harold Carter was born in Parkside, Pennsylvania. He joined Able Company on September 8, 1943, from duty at Quantico, VA. He served as a rifleman during training and in action on Namur; in the spring of 1944, Carter was moved up to the position of fire team leader.
PFC Carter was wounded and evacuated from Saipan on June 16, 1944; he was transferred to the Aiea Heights Naval hospital the following month, and did not return to the company. His further service is unknown.
