Armond Leisure was born in California in the year 1913. He was raised by his mother in the city of Pomona, and worked as a photographer before enlisting in the Marine Corps.

With Dog Company:

Leisure specialized in machine guns, and advanced to the rank of corporal while serving with Company D of the 24th Marines. He served as an assistant section leader with the First Machine Gun Platoon during the battle of Namur in February, 1944; when his company was disbanded that March, Leisure was transferred to Able Company.

With Able Company:

Corporal Leisure was soon promoted to Sergeant Leisure of Able Company's machine gun platoon. He led a section of two gun crews through training at Camp Maui, and made the landing with them on Saipan. Leisure became the platoon's first fatality of the Saipan campaign on June 15, 1944.

Armond was buried in Grave 139, Row 11, Plot 1 of the 4th Marine Division Cemetery. His present resting place is unknown.
