With Dog Company:

Wallace Duncan was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served with the duty section of the company headquarters, and as a machine gunner in the First Platoon. Duncan fought in the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Company A in the spring of 1944.

With Able Company:

PFC Duncan was assigned as an ammunition carrier in Able Company's machine gun platoon. He fought in the battle of Saipan, where he was wounded in action on July 6, 1944. After recovering in a Naval hospital, Duncan returned to the company - he was promoted to corporal and fought through the battle of Iwo Jima.

Duncan mustered out with the company at the end of the war. Today, he lives in North Carolina.
