Archie Adam was born in New Jersey in 1920. His father, Archie Senior, died in the early 1940's; as the oldest son, Archie would have helped his mother with the family until receiving his induction notice. After completing boot camp, Private Adam was assigned to the 30th Replacement Draft, and sailed for Iwo Jima. He joined Baker Company on February 24, 1945, and fought through the battle unwounded.
After the war, Archie Adam settled in Litchfield, CT, where he died in 1986.
