George Asack was an original member of Baker Company, 24th Marines. He served on Namur, and was promoted to corporal and assigned command of a fire team prior to the battle of Saipan.
Asack was badly wounded on June 17, 1944, and was evacuated from Saipan. He was transferred to a Navy hospital in July, 1944, and did not return to combat.
