Rondall Baird joined Baker Company on February 24, 1945. He had previously served with the 30th Replacement Draft.
Baird was killed in action on March 4, 1945. He left behind a wife and a three month old son.
He was buried in the Fourth Marine Division cemetery on Iwo Jima; after the war, he was reinterred in Drexel Memorial Park Cemetery, North Carolina.
