Joseph Boisclair was an original member of Company D, 24th Marines. As a "field music," or bugler, he would sound calls during the day, from reveille to chow to taps. In combat on Namur, he was likely detailed to carry a stretcher with the medical section. He survived the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Baker Company in March, 1944.
With Baker Company:
Joseph Boisclair served with Baker Company through the battles of Saipan and Tinian. He was killed in action on July 31, 1944, and buried in Plot 2, Row 2, Grave 184 of the Fourth Marine Division Cemetery, Tinian.
After the war, he was reinterred in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Section F, Site 452.
