Kenneth Boyd joined Baker Company in the spring of 1944. He was a rifleman in one of the front line platoons.

Except for a brief period of illness from July 7-9 1944, Boyd was present for every day of combat on Saipan and Tinian, and the majority of Iwo Jima. He was wounded in March, 1945.
