Homer Davis was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served as an ammunition carrier for the Second Machine Gun Platoon during the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Baker Company in the spring of 1944.
With Baker Company:
PFC Davis survived the battles of Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima without injury - placing him in a distinct minority for First Battalion marines. He mustered out at the end of the war.
