With Dog Company:
Salvadore Nobile was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He was a squad leader with the Second Machine Gun Platoon during the battle of Namur.
Nobile was transferred to Baker Company in March, 1944.
With Baker Company:
PFC Nobile became a gunner with Baker Company's machine gun platoon. He was wounded and evacuated from Saipan on June 17, 1944.
Salvadore Nobile married Catherine Lorraine Cover, and raised a family in his hometown of Columbia, PA. He died in 2009.
