Edward Olkowski was one of the original members of Dog Company. He was a gunner with the Second Machine Gun Platoon.

Olkowski fought in the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Baker Company in March, 1944.

With Baker Company:

PFC Olkowski served with Baker Company's machine gun platoon through the spring of 1944. He was wounded and evacuated from Saipan on June 16; the following month, he was transferred to a Navy hospital. Olkowski did not return to the battalion.
