With Dog Company:
PFC Harold Bowman was one of the original members of Dog Company. He served as an ammunition carrier in the Third Machine Gun Platoon.
Bowman participated in the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Charlie Company in March, 1944.
With Charlie Company:
Bowman carried ammunition in Charlie Company's machine gun platoon during the Marianas campaign. He was evacuated for sickness on July 8, but returned to the company three days later.
In the fall of 1944, Bowman was moved up to the position of gunner in one of the MG squads. He was wounded and evacuated from Iwo Jima on March 1, 1945.
Harold Bowman died in Massachusetts in 1975.
