Nathan Brown joined Charlie Company in the fall of 1944. He was a BAR gunner in one of the rifle platoons.

PFC Brown was mortally wounded on March 8, 1945, during the battle of Iwo Jima. Despite being evacuated for medical care, he succumbed to his wounds on March 12.

Brown is buried in a private cemetery in Kentucky.
