With Dog Company:

Carbone served as an ammunition carrier with Dog Company's 3rd Platoon. He participated in the battle of Namur, and was transferred to Charlie Company in the spring of 1944.

With Charlie Company:

Following his transfer to Charlie, PFC Carbone became a rifleman. He fought through the battles of Saipan and Tinian, and left the battalion in the fall of 1944.

Carbone died in Pennsylvania in 1989, and is buried in Section 12-D, Site 799 of the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
