Edward Coleson joined Charlie Company in the fall of 1944. He served as a rifleman during the battle of Iwo Jima.
Coleson was wounded and evacuated from Iwo Jima on March 7, 1945. He survived and returned to duty to finish out his four year hitch.
Coleson re-enlisted in 1950 and served in Korea; he was discharged in 1953 with the rank of sergeant.
Edward Coleson is buried in Section 204, Site 1642 of the Florida National Cemetery.
