With Dog Company:
Private First Class Alexander Copeck was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served as a squad leader in the Third Machine Gun Platoon during the battle of Namur.
In March, 1944, Copeck was transferred to Charlie Company.
With Charlie Company
Copeck became a gunner with Charlie Company's machine gun platoon. He was wounded during the battle of Saipan on June 21, 1944, and was evacuated. Alexander Copeck did not return to the battalion.
He died in New Jersey in 1986.
