George Colletti joined Headquarters Company in the spring of 1944. He got into serious trouble that summer; a courts-martial found him guilty of two separate instances of AOL on June 14, as well as one count of sleeping on watch June 15, and was sentenced to fifteen days of solitary confinement on bread and water. Private Colletti engineered an escape from the brig with a week left to go on his sentence, but was recaptured; the court added another fifteen days in solitary, as well as fining him ten dollars per month for the next seven months and assigning three months of extra punitive duties.
Colletti was transferred out of the battalion in the fall of 1944.
