With Dog Company:

Corporal Duemler was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served as one of the dual-role Ammunition and Chemical NCOs with the 81mm mortar platoon during training at Camp Pendleton and in combat on Namur. In March of 1944, Duemler transferred to the battalion's Headquarters Company.

With HQ Company:

Duemler stayed with the mortar platoon, paring down his duties to those of Ammunition NCO. He remained on the battalion's muster rolls during the summer of 1944, but did not participate in the Marianas campaign.

Corporal Duemler left the battalion in the fall of 1944.
