David Esworthy joined Headquarters Company in the fall of 1944. He served with the communications platoon (MOS 514) during the battle of Iwo Jima.
Esworthy survived the war unwounded; after his discharge, he returned to Pennsylvania and raised a family. He died in Camp Hill in 1980.
