Joseph Kresheskey was one of the original members of First Battalion, 24th Marines. He served as a typist clerk with Dog Company on Namur, with Headquarters Company on Saipan and Tinian, and with Charlie Company on Iwo Jima, where he was wounded in March, 1945.

Kresheskey died in New York in 2007. He is buried in Tongore Cemetery, Olivebridge.
