With Dog Company:
Ronald Mason was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served as an ammunition carrier for the 81mm Mortar platoon during the battle of Namur, and transferred to the battalion's headquarters company in the spring of 1944.
With HQ Company:
Mason remained with the mortar platoon for the rest of the war. He saw action on Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima, and survived the war unwounded.
