Ray Puglia was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served with the company headquarters as a cook during the battle of Namur, and was transferred to the battalion Headquarters company in March, 1944.
With HQ Company:
Puglia continued to serve as a cook with HQ Company. He saw action on Saipan and Tinian, where he was wounded in August, 1944.
Puglia left the battalion in the fall of 1944.
