With Dog Company:
Walter Rechko was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served with the 81mm mortar platoon during the battle of Namur, and transferred to the battalion's headquarters company in the spring of 1944.
With HQ Company:
Rainey continued to serve with the mortars following his transfer. He fought through each of the division's campaigns, and survived the war unwounded. His last known residence was Iselin, New Jersey.
