With Dog Company:
Albert Rementer was one of the original members of Dog Company, 24th Marines. He served as a truck driver with the company's headquarters during training at Camp Pendleton, and in combat on Namur. He transferred to the battalion's HQ company in the spring of 1944.
With HQ Company:
PFC Rementer kept his assignment as a driver through the summer of 1944, seeing action at Saipan and Tinian. That fall, he was promoted to corporal and reassigned as an Ammunition NCO. Rementer saw combat on Iwo Jima, and survived the war unwounded.
He died in Pennsylvania in 1974.
